Video: Obama & Hillary’s new best friend, Egypt’s President Morsi – “Jihad is our path, the koran our constitution, death for the sake of allah is our aspiration”

Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton love this guy. They have nothing but praise for Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Springtime for Hitler that they did so much to help promote. Now meet their good buddy:

Jun 28, 2012 by – Mohamed Morsi during Elections Campaign: Jihad Is Our Path, Death for the Sake of Allah Is Our Most Lofty Aspiration, the Shari’a Is Our Constitution

93,000 Coptic Christians have fled Egypt since start of ‘Arab Spring’

For Christians in Egypt, the Arab spring keeps coming up Hitler. The irony is the Coptic Christians were in Egypt hundreds of years before Mohammed was even born. The second irony is, as history repeatedly demonstrates, what begins with the Jews never ends with the Jews. Islam is not only incompatible with democracy, it is incompatible with every people and every system that is not Islamic.

Al Masry al Youm (h/t ElderofZion) – Nearly 93,000 Coptic Christians have left Egypt since 19 March, a report by an Egypt-based Coptic NGO has said.

The number may increase to 250,000 by the end of 2011, according to Naguib Gabriel, the head of the Egyptian Federation of Human Rights, which released the report.

The current trend of Coptic immigration endangers the structure of Egypt’s population, Gabriel told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Sunday. He urged the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) and the Egyptian cabinet to work on curbing the phenomenon.

Gabriel based the data stated in the report on information from Coptic churches and communities abroad.

“Nearly 16,000 migrated to California, while 10,000 moved to New Jersey, 8000 to New York, and 8000 to other American states,” according to Gabriel. “Around 14,000 left to Australia, 17,000 to Canada, and 20,000 settled in the Netherlands, Italy, England, Austria, Germany and France.”

Gabriel attributed the Coptic emigration to hardline Salafi groups seeking to apply Islamic law, deny Copts senior government posts, and reduce incoming tourism. He also blamed attacks on Coptic churches and the government’s failure to bring attackers to justice.

New poll: Muslim Brotherhood in strong lead for upcoming elections

Again, no worries. Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton assured us that the Muslim Brotherhood have turned over a new leaf, and discarded some eighty years of hate and terror support.

In the Obama generation new normal, the prospect of the Muslim Brotherhood in charge of the Arab world’s most populous and militarized country, a group that just held an axis of evil conference for the world’s top terrorists, is just an irresistible opportunity to achieve peace in the Middle East.

______________________________

The Blaze – Remember Amr Moussa? He’s the Egyptian presidential candidate — who is also a part of the Muslim Brotherhood — who said in May that Hamas — the terror group — is not a terror group. Now, a new Newsweek/Daily Beast poll finds that he‘s the likely winner in Egypt’s upcoming election, and his party is likely to gain power. And according to Newsweek, that’s bad news for Israel and America.

“The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s largest Islamist group, is poised to win the largest share of the vote in parliamentary elections,” the Daily Beast writes, “the man who appears to have a clear shot at the presidency, Amr Moussa, has made his name criticizing Israel; and a large majority of respondents favor amending or revoking the cornerstone of regional stability, the Camp David Accords.”

According to the poll of just over 1,000 respondents, the Muslim Brotherhood’s “Freedom and Justice Party” garnered the most support at 17 percent. The same support ringed true for Moussa:

On paper, the Newsweek/Daily Beast survey found a close race: Former Arab League chief Amr Moussa leads the pack with the support of 16 percent of likely voters, former diplomat Mohamed ElBaradei and former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik follow with 12 percent each, and a smattering of others trail in single digits. But Moussa clearly has wider appeal: When we surveyed likely voters with just the three front-runners, the former foreign minister, who talks tough on Israel, garners 47 percent, with “Undecided” running even with the remaining two. [Emphasis added]

So what did these Egyptians think about Israel? The poll says most want to change the staple peace agreement in the region, the Camp David Accords:

The antipathy to their neighbor the north was palpable. Only 3 percent of those surveyed had a positive impression of Israel, only 2 percent said Israel cares about Egypt’s interests and a mere 1 percent said Israel had responded to the recent revolution in a positive way. This has repercussions on the linchpin of regional stability, the Camp David Accords: 70 percent want to amend or cancel them, while only 17 percent want to keep them as is. [Emphasis added]

Who do they like instead? How about Turkey, which has embraced Islamic law.

“Among regional powers, it was viewed as having demonstrated the most support for the revolution, as well as the most concern about Egypt’s interests and the most positive effect on the world,” the article says.

It‘s no wonder that the Daily Beast opens it’s piece with this conclusion: “the political climate in Egypt is moving in a new direction that is inimical to American and allied interests—notwithstanding the billions of dollars in aid that the United States continues to provide.”

That, it says plainly, spells “trouble for the West.”

New Tunisian constitution to reject “any form of normalization with the Zionist State”

The state-run media repeatedly tells us that Tunisia has the best chance of emerging from the so-called Arab Spring as the freest, most democratic of the failed states. Considering that the bar is set so low that an ant can crawl over it, that isn’t saying much.

There is one fact that Liberals just can’t seem to get their heads around – democracy and Islam are incompatible. It will never happen. Not in 5 years. Not in a hundred years. It has never worked, and never will or can work.

The Obama Administration gave $20 million to support Tunisian democracy last month. That’s our president, always getting our money’s worth.

ANSAmed (h/t RoP) — Today Tunisia’s commission of political reform announced that it adopted (by majority) a ”republican pact” that will be the basis of the future new Constitution, and in particular it states the rejection of any normalization with Israel.

While announcing the pact the president of the commission, Yadh Ben Achour, did not offer any details, but the Arab speaking Tunisian press published its content, which defines Tunisia as a free and democratic country, whose official language is Arab and whose religion is Islam.

The pact, that will serve as the basis of the future Constitution, categorically rejects ”any form of normalization with the Zionist State”, and supports the Palestinian cause.

Pew Poll: Obama’s pandering to Arab world results in more Muslim disgust for America than ever

No president in American history has tried harder to get Muslims to love him than Nakba-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama.

So, where has all his flattery gotten him? How are his billions of dollars, thousands of words, and hundreds of good will gestures fairing?

Well, according to a new Pew poll, Obama can’t even sell water to a dehydrated camel jockey.

For commentary on the poll, I turn to Middle East expert Barry Rubin:

Rubinreports – Wow. How can anybody continue to spout nonsense about how President Barack Obama’s policies and endless attempts to make Muslims and Arabs love America are succeeding or are even useful in light of this new Pew poll.

Here are the findings. The analyses following the numbers are mine:

1. Are you favorable toward Obama?

Jordan, 13 percent; down 12 points since he took office. The Muslim Brotherhood and Palestinians (there’s an overlap) hate him and the “East Bankers,” that is the non-Palestinians don’t trust him to support the continued existence of the monarchy.

Turkey; 10 percent; down 4 points. This reflects the efforts of the Islamist government to incite massive anti-Americanism despite the fact that Obama never criticizes and only praises the regime.

Barakafat: "I don't get it. Who do they think I am?"

Pakistan; 11 percent, down 5 points. This is, of course, despite billions in aid he has given even though Pakistan has sponsored terrorism against India while helping al-Qaida leaders escape capture.

Lebanon; 49 percent, down 6 points. The relatively high figure here no doubt expresses the hope of Sunni Muslims, Christians, and Druze who oppose Syria and Hizballah that Obama would help them. He hasn’t and won’t.

Egypt; 20 percent, down 7 points. Despite his helping them to overthrow their government that was allied to the United States, there’s no gratitude. The Muslim Brotherhood is about four times more popular than Obama and it stands for jihad against America. (Its leaders say so even if the American media and “experts” ignore it.)

Palestinians, 18 percent, up 3 points, which is not very impressive given all his efforts and tilt toward them.

In other words, everything Obama has done: the Cairo speech, super-sensitivity toward Islam, support for Arab revolts, distancing the United States from Israel–has had no effect, indeed, a negative effect. (keep reading >>)

Pewglobal.org – As President Obama prepares to make a major address on the tumultuous changes spreading throughout the Middle East, a new survey finds that the rise of pro-democracy movements has not led to an improvement in America’s image in the region. Instead, in key Arab nations and in other predominantly Muslim countries, views of the U.S. remain negative, as they have been for nearly a decade. Indeed, in Jordan, Turkey and Pakistan, views are even more negative than they were one year ago.

With the exception of Indonesia, Obama remains unpopular in the Muslim nations polled, and most disapprove of the way he has handled calls for political change roiling the Middle East.

Moreover, many of the concerns that have driven animosity toward the U.S. in recent years are still present – a perception that the U.S. acts unilaterally, opposition to the war on terror, and fears of America as a military threat. And in countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, and Pakistan, most say their own governments cooperate too much with the U.S. (more >>>)

Video evidence of the unholy alliance between the radical Left and Islam

For the past six months, Glen Beck has been meticulously documenting the unholy alliance between the radical Left and radical Islam. He was not the first to make this connection, however. Many others had already done so, like David Horowitz in his 2006 book, Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left.

Still, no public figure with Beck’s reach, and certainly no one on television, has dared to speak the truth about this dangerous and frightening alliance like Beck has. He has been spot on.

The below, just released video, is further evidence that Beck and all those who have been warning about this calculated attempt to destroy America, Israel, and capitalism are speaking the truth.

Watch and learn as two leaders in the movement describe exactly what they are up to.

As you could see, these nutjobs are deadly serious. They hate America, Israel, and capitalism with a vengeance.

But they are fools is more than one way. They actually believe that once they take down the West, they will be able to persuade their allies, the Islamonazis, to follow their path.

Fat chance, chumps.

How naive. Every one of these morons will lose their head if they don’t convert. They are helping to create a monster, and should they succeed, that monster will devour them.

The question becomes, how high and how deep do their connections and plots go? The answer is much higher and deeper than most Americans will ever be willing to admit. And therein lies their strength and the reason why this ‘revolution’ is far from over.

Bankrupt G8 seeks $40 billion to squander on ‘Arab Spring’

The G8 intends to raise $40 billion to hand over to non-existent Arab democrats to help ensure that the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda, and other like-minded groups can better spread their fanatical brand of Islam around the world.

Nevermind that nearly all of the G8 countries, with the possible exception of Canada, are up to their eyeballs in debt, unemployment, and increasing social unrest. The show must go on!

Washington Times - DEAUVILLE, France — Rich countries and international lenders are aiming to provide $40 billion in funding for Arab nations trying to establish true democracies, officials said at a Group of Eight summit Friday.

Officials didn’t fully detail the sources of the money, or how it would be used, but the thrust was clearly to underpin democracy in Egypt and Tunisia — where huge public uprisings ousted autocratic regimes this year — and put pressure on repressive rulers in Syria and Libya.

The overall message from President Barack Obama and the other G-8 leaders meeting in this Normandy resort appeared to be warning autocratic regimes in the Arab world that they will be shut out of rich-country aid and investment, while new democracies are encouraged to open their economies.

On war-torn Libya, European leaders sought to wield carrot and stick. French President Nicolas Sarkozy insisted NATO was ratcheting up military pressure against Moammar Gadhafi’s embattled regime, just as British Prime Minister David Cameron said Libya could get a cut of aid — if Gadhafi goes.

Tahrir square

“This support will initially be available to Egypt and Tunisia, but will ultimately be there for any country that embraces the path to democracy and reform — and of course that could include, for example, Libya,” he said.

Tunisia’s finance minister said Sarkozy floated the $40 billion figure at talks Friday, in which the prime ministers of Tunisia and Egypt joined the G-8 leaders to seek help after the uprisings scared away tourists and investors.

A French official says $40 billion is the overall goal, but that breakdowns by country and timetables are still under discussion. The official was not authorized to be publicly named according to his office policy.

A group statement from the G-8 leaders said that $20 billion from international development banks could go to Egypt and Tunisia over the next three years.

Another $10 billion is to come from Persian Gulf countries, and the rest in bilateral aid from other countries, including €1 billion from France, Sarkozy said.  (the whole pile of camel dung >>)

MEANWHILE, back in the REAL world where the fantasies of know-nothing elitists constantly crash and burn, another member of the Muslim Brotherhood has announced that he will be running for President in the upcoming elections.

Sheikh Washington Hazem Jefferson Abu Madison Ismail

Not only that, Sheikh Washington Hazem Jefferson Abu Madison Ismail says that after he wins he will implement Islamic sharia law and cancel the peace treaty with Israel.

Ah, the pungent smell of the Arab Springtime for Hitler…. Imagine what he’ll be able to accomplish with the billions being promised by Barack Obama and the G8!

Al-Masry (h/t Weasel Zippers) — Muslim Brotherhood Sheikh Hazem Abu Ismail announced his intention to run in Egypt’s upcoming presidential elections.

He said that if elected he would implement Islamic sharia law and cancel the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

Ismail was the Brotherhood’s candidate in 2005 parliamentary elections for Dokki in Giza.

The group announced earlier that it would not take part in the presidential elections and confirmed that it would compete for only half the seats in Parliament. But Ismail is the second Brotherhood member to have announced his intention to run for president in defiance of the group’s leadership. The other Brotherhood candidate is Abdel Moneim Abouel Fotouh, a liberal-minded Islamist.

Abu Ismail said Saturday during a speech in a Dokki mosque that he will sweep the elections. Since he is an ordinary man, he said, the masses will support him.

Abu Ismail said that his platform revolves around Islam, while “Mohamed ElBaradei, Amr Moussa, and Hamdeen Sabahi, the liberal candidates, will be unable to present a clear vision” for the country.

“If I could apply sharia in Egypt, all people, including non-Muslims, would applaud me four years later,” said Abu Ismail.

The sheikh said that no current presidential candidate represents the Egyptian people.

We seek to apply Islamic law, but those who don’t want it prefer cabarets, alcohol, dancers and prostitution, as the implementation of Islamic law will prohibit women to appear naked in movies and on beaches,” Abu Ismail added.

Egypt Brotherhood leader: Dhimmis will love sharia after we apply it

Sobhi Saleh: Sharia, try it, you'll like it!

As the West continues to keep its head firmly up its own butt, the Muslim Brotherhood and other hardcore Islamic groups in Egypt and across the Arab world grow bolder and bolder in their intentions. They have clearly figured out that the West has no intention of upsetting their sharia apple cart. After all, Imam Obama and dhimmi-witted Hillary Clinton have already promised them billions of dollars in aid and debt forgiveness with no strings attached.

Al-Masry (h/t Weasel Zippers) — The Muslim Brotherhood would apply Islamic sharia if it came to power, said leading Brotherhood figure Sobhi Saleh, adding that sharia protects non-Muslim citizens.

“Terms like civil or secular state are misleading,” he said. “Islamic sharia is the best system for Muslims and non-Muslims.”

Saleh apologized for his earlier statements that the Muslim Brotherhood could not recognize liberals or communists as Muslims, and that he disapproved of Muslims marrying outside the group.

Group to establish Nazi party in springtime Egypt

Coming soon to Egypt?

A couple weeks back I joked about the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ being more reminiscent of ‘Springtime for Hitler’. I should have known that the Arab world is beyond parody.

Considering that Mein Kampf and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are perennial best sellers in Egypt, it is no wonder that the new party is having little trouble attracting members.

Almasryalyoum (h/t Ricochet) – A group of Egyptians have announced their intent to establish a Nazi party with “a contemporary frame of reference,” an independent Egyptian news website said on Wednesday.

Al-Badeel, a leftist news portal, quoted founding member Emad Abdel Sattar as saying the party would bring together prominent figures from the Egyptian society. The party’s founding deputy is a former military official.

The party believes in vesting all powers in the president after selecting him or her carefully, Abdel Sattar said, adding that preparations are underway to choose the most competent person to represent the party.

The Nazi party operated secretly under former President Hosni Mubarak, whose regime prevented party leaders from carrying out their activities freely.

Although Al-Masry Al-Youm could not verify the news reported by Al-Badeel, two Facebook pages have appeared recently under the title of “the Egyptian Nazi Party”.

The two pages attracted around 70 followers, who mostly posted questions about the party’s ideas and policies and requested details on how to join.

Abdel Sattar told Al-Badeel that members are increasing at an unexpected rate, and several people came to ask about the nature of the party and its plans.

The party has a one-year plan to develop Egypt, unlike the “marginalized liberal parties, which are like dead bodies,” he said.

A source from the proposed party told Al-Badeel the idea to start it came after some fundamentalist religious waves emerged, which, according to the source, created a state of chaos and led to the burning of churches, the destruction of shrines and assaults on unarmed civilians.

The founders want to avoid media attention until they are fully ready, the source said.

Algeria shuts down 7 more Protestant churches

The short-lived “Arab Spring” is going to be a long hot Arab summer.

(ANSAmed) – ALGIERS, MAY 24 – A new clampdown on Christian protestants in Algeria. The Algerian ‘wilaya’ (province) of Bejaia has ordered 7 places of worship of this religious group to be closed. The measure, el Watan reports on its website, was issued on May 8. It was made executive on the 22nd and announced yesterday.

Sources in the Vatican nunciature in Algiers have told ANSAmed that Catholic churches are not affected by the measure, and that the measure does not regard national territory. Mustapha Krim, president of the Protestant Church in Algeria, has appealed against the measure, which speaks in general terms of the closing of places of worship ”for religious worship other than the Islam”. Krim has said that he has visited the Ministry of Religious Affairs in an attempt to postpone the implementation of the measure. He underlined that he has not been informed about it in time.

Protestants, a rapidly growing movement in Algeria, has been targeted for several years by the Islamic religious authorities and civilians. The government accuses the Protestants of proselytism, a serious crime in a country where Islam is the State religion and Muslims are not allowed to convert to other religions.

In Algeria, other religions than the Islam can register and obtain an official status, provided they will not try to recruit new followers among the local population. The small Catholic community in fact counts nearly only foreign members, with a few Algerians from the time of French colonialism.

The attitude of the Protestants is different: in 2001 some North American Protestant ministers started preaching in the Berber region Kabylie. According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, today there are around 50 thousand Protestants in the country, with 10 thousand observant Protestants divided in 33 communities.

In 2006, the Algerian government passed a law that punishes anyone who tries to convert a Muslim to Christianity, punishable with two to five years in prison and fines ranging from five to ten thousand euros. Several Protestant churches have been closed in the past. Early in 2010 a Protestant place of worship in Tizi-Ouzou, around 60 km east of Algiers, was attacked and set on fire by groups of Muslim extremists; the police did not intervene.

Egypt: Surge in disappearances of Coptic girls, forcibly converted and married off

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the rest of the Arab Springers continue to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the persecution of Christians throughout the Arab world, and especially in Egypt where the Obama Administration has bet the farm on the Muslim Brotherhood becoming good little Liberals.

In Egypt, young Christian women and girls are being kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam, and married. Once converted to Islam, one cannot leave. Not with one’s head still attached to his or her shoulders, anyway.

AINA (h/t Weasel Zippers) — Amid the upheavals in Egypt since January, reports have begun to emerge of a surge in disappearances of Coptic girls.

One priest in Cairo estimates that at least 21 young girls, many as young as 14, have disappeared from his parish alone.

In most cases, when a Christian girl who disappears is found by her family, she has been converted to Islam and married. The Coptic authorities, have even set up a series of refuges in monasteries to handle the growing numbers of girls who wish to return to their families, many of whom are not accepted by their family of origin.

But a worse problem for these women is that their conversion to Islam is irreversible.

Religion is stated on Egyptian ID documents and even though secular law provides for reversions, under the growth of sharia they are very difficult, except for those affording legal advocacy.  Keep reading…

More Christians killed in Egypt in past few days than people killed in Syria or in Libya

Obama and Hillary’s Arab “spring” looks more and more like the only thing that is going to blossom in the Arab world is even greater Islamic hatred and terror.

This piece comes on the heals of a Muslim attack on Coptic Christian protesters at Maspero three times on Saturday, killing one and injuring over 100.

See also Andrew McCarthy’s “Arab Spring Unleashes Islamists on Egyptian Christians“.

The AustralianTWELVE Christian were murdered in Egypt. Two hundred and thirty-two people wounded. The death toll will surely rise as victims succumb to their injuries. And that’s just in the past few days. In the same time period, more Christians were killed in Egypt at the hands of Muslims than people killed in Syria or in Libya as a result of protests, riots and resistance.

Two churches in Cairo were burned in recent days. Over the past few months church property has being gutted, vandalised and violated with graffiti. Churches have been blown up.

An entire community – the Christian community in the new Egypt – is under attack. And the world remains relatively silent. There has been no significant religious outcry, political redress or diplomatic pressure to stop the attacks. There has been almost no media coverage as Egypt’s Muslims systematically, over the past few months, set about massacring Egypt’s Christians.

The world is not only standing idly by, it is enabling the massacre. The US naively expects that a new era, begun in new Egypt, will ripple to the rest of the Islamic world. So in the midst of these monstrous mass murders in Egypt, the US has decided to send an extra $US1 billion to help the Egyptians ease the economic crisis that emerged as a result of the ousting of Hosni Mubarak on February 11. Muslims in Egypt are on the warpath – on the religious warpath – and the US is feeding them money.

This most recent round of Christian murders began with the rumour that Christians had kidnapped a Christian woman who had converted to Islam. According to the rumour, the woman was being held in the cellar of one of the churches and Christians were brainwashing her back to Christianity. Egyptian Muslims set out to find this woman. Along the way they murdered, pillaged and burned.

The rumours were not true. There was no kidnapping. But there are two burned churches and 12 murdered Christians.

Threats against Christians have become a near daily event since Christmas. On New Year’s Day 21 Christians were killed in a church bombing in the ancient port city of Alexandria. Alexandria has a long history of multiculturalism, it should have, and could have, been a model city where Christians, Muslims and even Jews lived together harmoniously. Statistically, there are no longer any Jews in Egypt, but there are still seven million Christians. Instead, Alexandria has become a symbol of attacking Christians. Do not for a moment think that the date January 1 was an accident – the church was bombed in the middle of holiday mass. No one has been prosecuted. .

A year earlier, on January 7, Coptic Christmas, seven people were killed as they left mass. Six were Christian worshippers, the seventh victim was a Muslim guard. In this case someone was actually arrested.

The ugliest of all Muslim attacks against Christians took place on March 9. On that day 1500 Muslims stormed the Christian community in a modern pogrom. Thirteen people died, 45 were seriously injured, 150 moderately injured. The Egyptians put a military blackout over the material, but the Assyrian International News Agency reported the carnage.  (more >>>)

Egypt’s young democrats express their seething hatred for Israel

Obama, Hillary, and world’s state-run media all insisted that the revolution in Egypt was led by blue-jeaned Facebookers and Twitterers, who were all good little liberals. They introduced us to Mohammed Jefferson, Abdul Adams, Yasir Madison, and Abu Franklin.

‘Course, anyone with half a brain knew that was all pure propagandistic baloney. Egyptians since the time of Nasser have had their minds filled with nothing but hate and contempt for the West, and especially for Israel and the U.S.

Muslim mob attacks protesting Christians in Egypt

Things for Coptic Christians in Egypt have gone straight downhill ever since Obama-style ‘democracy’ took over. It will only get worse and worse for them.

CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian security official says an angry mob attacked a group of mainly Christian protesters demanding drastic measures to heal religious tensions, and scores of people have been injured.

Hundreds of protesters have been holding a sit-in outside the state television building for nearly a week, blocking traffic.

The official says nearly 100 people lobbed rocks at the protesters and set vehicles on fire early Sunday outside the TV building, which sits on a street that lines the Nile River. The official says the mob was retaliating for an earlier scuffle that left one of them badly injured.

Police and army troops fired in the air to disperse the crowd. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

4 miles of Yemeni anger

That’s a lot whole lot of outrage.

Anyone know what the world record for protesting Muslims might be? This makes the crowds in Egypt’s Tahriri Square look like Harry Reid’s Cowboy Poetry Festival in comparison.

Meanwhile, in another much ignored story, Syria’s Bashir Assad continues to fire on his own people as he moves in tanks and artillery to crush the months-old rebellion in his totalitarian state, causing villagers to flee into Lebanon.

The Atlantic Wire - On the same day that Ali Abdullah Saleh defiantly pledged to “defend” his country “by all means” and warned protesters to “stop playing with fire,” Reuters reports that armored vehicles, troops, and military academy students with batons fanned out across the capital, Sanaa, as a “sea of protesters” gathered in a main street for four miles straight, chanting “we are steadfast, you leader of the corrupt” and “peaceful, peaceful, no to civil war.”

The anti-government demonstrators displayed the bodies of 13 protesters killed during bloody clashes with security forces on Wednesday at the speaker’s platform. What does a “sea of protesters” look and sound like? NPR’s Andy Carvin has come across video of the event, and it’s breathtaking–unlike any other protest footage we’ve seen so far:

Reuters is also reporting that two people were killed and 15 wounded today when Yemeni troops fired at protesters in Ibb, a city south of Sanaa. Carvin has highlighted a video of demonstrators in the city throwing rocks at an armored vehicle:

Thousands of Egyptians march on Israeli consulate in Alexandria

Now that the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists have done away with Hosni Mubarak with the help of Barack Hussein Obama, they feel more emboldened than ever to strut their Jew-hating stuff.

So, in phony support of the Fakestinians, whom they really don’t give a rat’s ass about, they mobbed the Israeli consulate in Alexandria today to show how tough they are. Since they are all unemployed, their economy in the crapper, their leaders all thugs and madmen, what else is there to do on a Friday?

Why aren’t Abu Washington and Mohammed Jefferson, Yasir Adams, and Mahmoud Madison marching on the Syrian embassy in Egypt? Don’t they believe their Arab “brothers” in Syria deserve a shot at democracy, too? Unlike the Fakestinians, the Syrians truly are being oppressed and slaughtered as we speak.

But notice that no Muslim country is speaking out on it. It shows what hypocrites the Muslim world is. If one Palestinian stubs his finger picking up a rock to throw at a Jew, it’s off to the UN for another resolution. But the governments of Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt can mow down as many of their fellow Muslims in the street as they wish, and no one, including Nakba-in-Chief Obama, says boo.

Jerusalem Post - In the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city, thousands marched to the Israeli consulate after dawn prayers at one of the city’s main mosques, chanting: “With our souls, with our blood, we redeem you Palestine.”

“We are here today to show our support for the Palestinian cause,” said Mohammed Abdel-Salam, a 22-year-old activist on Friday. “The victory of our revolution will not be complete without the liberation of Palestine,” he added.

In Jordan, early “Nakba Day” protests took place north of the Allenby Bridgeborder crossing with similar protests planned for Sunday, Israel Radio reported.

Thousands of Egyptians took to the streets on Friday to push their military rulers to do more to help Palestinians following the overthrow of the country’s president Hosni Mubarak.

Many Egyptians felt Mubarak, a US ally, was too soft on Israel and want their new government to take a much stronger pro-Palestinian stand.

The gatherings in Cairo, Alexandria and El-Arish come amidst preparations by activists to organize a march to the Gaza Strip on Sunday, May 15 — which Palestinians mark as the anniversary of their 1948 displacement following the establishment of Israel.

Egyptian authorities have banned the march, saying the timing was inappropriate given sectarian tensions in Egypt.  (more >>>)

Shin Bet: Egypt turning blind eye to weapons smuggling into Gaza

Egypt continues to demonstrate that it’s so-called revolution was a farce, and that the new powers will be worse than the old.

None of this matters in the least to the Obama Administration, who is pouring billions into the Muslim Brotherhood-led democariah.

Hillary Clinton has pledged an additional $2 billion to Egypt on top of what the U.S. already donates to the ingrate nation, but that is not enough for Barack Hussein Obama. Without oversight or pre-conditions, Obama wants to forgive $1 billion in Egyptian debt.

Egypt already receives $1.3 billion yearly from the U.S., so add Hillary’s $2 billion and Obama’s $1 billion in debt forgiveness, and the Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian government wins a total of $4.3 billion, making it by far the single largest recipient of U.S. aid.

Ynet- A Shin Bet document paints a bleak picture of Gaza arms smuggling operations and states that the potential threat they pose to Israel has increased since the Egyptian revolution.

According to Shin Bet data, hundreds of rockets capable of hitting targets within a 12-25 mile range, have been smuggled into the Gaza Strip since last year. In addition, some 1,000 mortar shells, dozens of anti-tank missiles and tons of both explosives and explosive-manufacturing materials, have found their way into the hands of Gaza militants in the past year.

During the Mubarak era, Egypt applied substantial efforts to foiling weapon smuggling operations. Among those were the underground steel wall project, meant to physically block smuggling tunnels, which is still under construction; and the deployment of motion sensors along the border.

[...] The Shin Bet said that Iran plays a key role in assisting Islamic Jihad and Hamas – which are eager to acquire weapons that would put them on equal footing vis-à-vis the IDF – in obtaining such weapons.

Gaza’s militant groups are interested in increasing their ability to target the Israeli home front, mostly by utilizing long-range rockets; and Iran, according to the Shin Bet, is directly involved in supplying such weapons.

The Shin Bet draws the main smuggling route starting in Iran, through to Sudan, on to Egypt, then to the Sinai Peninsula and from there into Gaza.

Egyptian Muslims attack, torch another Christian church, kill 6, injure 120

The Obama Administration’s democracy-loving Egyptian Muslims carried out yet another attack on Christians, this time killing 6 and injuring a 120.

This is what democracy looks like in the Arab world.

CNN (h/t GWP) - Six people were killed and 120 injured in sectarian clashes outside a church in Cairo on Saturday, officials said.

An angry group of Muslim Salafists attacked the Saint Mena Coptic Orthodox Church. They were upset over reports of a woman being held against her will after allegedly converting to Islam.

“With my own eyes I saw three people killed and dozens injured,” said Mina Adel, a Christian resident. “There’s no security here. There’s a big problem. People attacked us, and we have to protect ourselves.”

He said the clashes were sparked by reports of a Christian woman who married a Muslim man and was allegedly being held inside the church.

Nearby, firefighters responded to a blaze at the Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church. Hundreds of residents stood outside as it burned and two men were seen jumping from a window of the building.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood calls for review of Israel peace treaty

Further evidence, as if any more were needed, that Egypt is headed down the path of becoming the Middle East’s next major headache.

(FT) – The Muslim Brotherhood opposition group in Egypt has called for a review of the 1978 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel and says it should be resubmitted to a “freely elected” parliament for approval.

Regarded as the best-organised political group in Egypt, the Brotherhood is poised to play an influential role in politics in the country after the fall of the regime of Hosni Mubarak, the former president.

Egypt is due to hold parliamentary elections in September and the group is likely to emerge with the largest bloc in the assembly. It said this week that its candidates would compete for half the seats in parliament.   Keep reading…

Egypt youth movement wants nothing to do with ‘Zionist entity’

Those open-minded, blue jean clad young Egyptian Facebookers and Twitterers that the media couldn’t stop gushing over have refused to speak to Israeli TV. They want nothing to do with “the Zionist entity”.

So now every Egyptian ‘entity’ has had their say, and it appears that Israel has no partners in peace with any political group in Egypt.

But…but Hillary Clinton promised us Abu Washington and Mohammed Jefferson, Yasir Adams, and Mahmoud Madison! They are “reformers” she insisted, just like…like she said of Syria’s Bashir Assad!

Business Insider - The leaders of the Egyptian revolution have no interest in talking about their movement to Israel.

According to The New Sunrise, Israeli Channel 10 asked for an interview with Ahmed Maher, a co-founder of the April 6 Youth.

The request was denied almost immediately. The group’s spokesman Mohamed Adil cited a desire to avoid any perception they were affiliated with the Zionist regime.

The rhetoric is consistent with that coming from the April 6 camp since it was founded in the spring of 2008.

Salafists in Egypt do Muslim Brotherhood’s “dirty work”

Salafist protest in Cairo

The Muslim Brotherhood and al-Queda-linked hard-lined Salafists are said to be working in cahoots in Egypt to ensure that the Middle East’s most populous Muslim country goes the way of shariah and radical Islam.

“The Brotherhood wants to present an image of moderation and non-violence,” a diplomat said. “When it needs dirty work done, it calls the Salafists.”

Egypt is finished. Hardly a day goes by that we don’t hear about a new advance by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, many of which I’ve reported here.

CAIRO — The Islamic opposition has begun to employ Al Qaida supporters for a violent campaign in Egypt.

Western diplomats have reported expanded cooperation between the Muslim Brotherhood and the so-called Salafist movement. The Salafists, funded by Gulf Arab sheiks, practice a brand of fundamentalist Islam similar to that of Al Qaida.

“There is evidence that the Salafists and Brotherhood are working together to take over the streets [of Egypt],” a diplomat said.

The diplomats said the Brotherhood was using the Salafists for attacks on other elements of the opposition that helped oust President Hosni Mubarak in February. They said the Brotherhood was exploiting its quiet cooperation with the military regime to attack Christians and Sufi Muslims in Cairo and Alexandria. In March, at least 25 people were killed in Salafist-led clashes with Christians in the Cairo area.

“The Brotherhood wants to present an image of moderation and non-violence,” the diplomat said. “When it needs dirty work done, it calls the Salafists.”

Relatedly, here is an example of Salafist work. Thousands of these Obama and Hillary “reformers” protested Friday outside the Coptic Church’s headquarters in Cairo to demand the release of two women they insist are being held by Coptics after converting to Islam.

The Copts deny that the women converted, but you know Muslims, they never stop their incitement until they get their way. Is there any doubt that this will eventually turn violent.

In fact it already has. AFP reports that their cause was picked up by a Qaeda-linked group in Iraq that massacred dozens of Christians in a Baghdad church in November 2010 and vowed more attacks until the two women are freed. Two months later, a suicide bomber killed more than 20 Copts after a New Year’s Eve mass in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria.

CAIRO (AFP) — About 2,000 hardline Islamists protested Friday outside the Coptic Church’s headquarters in Cairo to demand the release of two women they allege are being held after converting to Islam.

The protesters, who belonged to the puritanical Salafi sect, marched on St Mark’s Cathedral from a mosque after Friday prayers to demand the release of Wafa Constantine and Camellia Shehata, the wives of two priests.

The church denies the women converted to Islam.

The Salafis have held regular protests over the case in the past year, but they have usually been smaller in number.

Their cause was eventually picked up by a Qaeda-linked group in Iraq that massacred dozens of Christians in a Baghdad church in November 2010 and vowed more attacks until the two women are freed.

Two months later, a suicide bomber killed more than 20 Copts after a New Year’s Eve mass in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria.

The Coptic Church has reportedly convened a synod in response to the growing assertiveness of Salafis, who have increased their political presence in Egypt since a popular revolt toppled president Hosni Mubarak in February.  (h/t Weasel Zippers)

Pew poll: Only 36% of Egyptians support peace treaty with Israel; 80% say America sucks

The Pew Research Center’s Global Attitudes Project is out with a new poll on what Egyptians are thinking about the dramatic political changes they are experiencing.

Egyptians are optimistic about their future, but it is a future that doesn’t include peace with Israel and wants cowed America.

In other words, Egypt is looking forward to becoming an international pain in the ass.

Oh, and the The Muslim Brotherhood has a 75% positive rating.

How will this translate into American relations with the new “democracy”?

Billions more in aid, of course! Muslim nations know that there is virtually nothing they can ever say or do to jeopardize the aid they receive from America, that the U.S. State Department will always have their backs, and Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton, their fronts.

Jerusalem Post - Only 36% would maintain treaty, while 82% of Egyptians view US unfavorably; Tantawi is most popular man in Egypt.

Most Egyptians are in favor of annulling a peace treaty with Israel, according to a Pew Research Center poll released on Monday.

The US-based think tank polled 1,000 adults throughout Egypt between March 24 and April 7, finding that only 36 percent would maintain peace. The percentage of Egyptians who support annulling the treaty (54%) does not vary amongst those who sympathize with Islamic fundamentalists and those who do not. However, those with lower incomes are less likely to support the peace with Israel than those with higher incomes.

The Pew survey also showed that only 22% of Egyptians said the US has had a positive impact on the political change in their country, while 52% disapprove of the the American response to general Middle East upheaval. In addition, 80%  have an unfavorable opinion of the US, and 60% say they do not have confidence in US President Barack Obama.

The most popular agent of change in Egypt today is Ruling Council chief Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, who received a 90% positive rating, closely followed by Arab League chief and Egyptian presidential hopeful Amr Moussa with 89%. The Muslim Brotherhood has a 75% positive rating, while former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was ranked positively by only 13% of those polled.

Most Egyptians (57%) are optimistic about the country’s future, and 65% are satisfied with the way things are going, as opposed to 28% who were satisfied in 2010. Only 41% think that it is very likely that the next election will be free and fair. More Egyptians say that better economic conditions (82%) and maintaining law and order (63%) are more important than fair elections (55%).

Pro-Israel Egyptian blogger gets 3 years in prison

Maikel Nabil Sanad

The world’s phony Facebook democracy in Egypt continues to Twitter into fairy dust.

An atheist Coptic, pacifist, and outspoken pro-Israel Egyptian blogger received a quick show trial, sans his lawyers present, and was summarily convicted of “insulting the military establishment,” “spreading false information,” and sentenced to 3 years in a stinking Egyptian prison.

The guy is brave to be sure, but it’s sad to say that neither his atheism nor his pacifism will serve him well in an Egyptian prison. As an Egyptian who acknowledges the existence of Israel, he is a marked man. Poor guy. If he survives 3 years in that hellhole, one must wonder if he’ll emerge an atheist, because surviving is going to require a miracle.

But hey, maybe the millions of blue-jeaned liberals the media said were filling the streets of Cairo will come to his aid and protest in his favor! Can you see the signs now – ‘Save our Zionist brother the atheist!’? No, sadly, me neither…

Jerusalem Post - Hopes that post-Hosni Mubarak Egypt would be a beacon of free speech suffered a blow last week when the country’s ruling military council sentenced a well-known blogger to three years in prison. Maikel Nabil Sanad is many things that set him apart in his native country: an atheist of Coptic origin, a pacifist, and – in a country where “normalization” is often a dirty word – unabashedly pro- Israel.

Detained March 30, Sanad was given a quick show trial without his lawyers present and convicted of “insulting the military establishment” and “spreading false information.” The information he posted on his blog – on the army’s use of violence against protesters and its torture of detainees – had already been widely publicized by human rights groups like Amnesty International.

Sanad is a 25-year-old unemployed veterinarian from Asyut, a Nile-side city in Egypt’s interior near Gamal Abdel Nasser’s home village. Sanad’s blog, “Son of Ra,” can be viewed in English, Arabic and Hebrew (the last of which the blogger was studying prior to his incarceration). Reader comments in English and Hebrew gush with appreciation for the blogger’s liberal, conciliatory ideals. Those in Arabic are almost uniformly pejorative.

IN OCTOBER, Sanad announced he would refuse to serve his mandatory military service.

“Recruitment goes against my conscience,” he wrote. “I don’t want to point a weapon at a young Israeli, recruited into obligatory service, defending his state’s right to exist. I think obligatory service is a form of slavery, and I have worked for years for my freedom.”

The next week he gave an interview to the Ynet news site on how he came to be, in his own words, Egypt’s “only” pro-Israel activist.

“From a young age I read a lot about the Israeli-Arab conflict. I understood the Arab media hid facts that support Israel,” he said. “I tried to contact Israeli activists and started asking them questions, such as, ‘Is it true that Israel is a militaristic state?’ or, ‘Is it true that Israel wants to expand and reach the Nile?’… Many Arabs living in Israel told me how they are really treated and how much they prefer living in Israel above any Arab state.”  (more >>)

Egypt’s Muslims block highways and railways to bar Christian governor from taking up his post

This is the third posting on the continuing story of the Coptic governor appointed by the interim government and the belligerent opposition he is receiving in Egypt.

When we last checked in, the Christian, Emad Mikhail, was receiving death threats along with the protests. Now Muslims have blocked highways and railway tracks leading to Qena, a province with a large Coptic Christian population and whose previous governor was also a Christian, writes Reuters.

They have also surrounded the governor’s office, swearing that Mikhail will never set foot in there. It is probably safe to say that Emad Mikhail takes them at their word, as Muslims and Christians have often clashed in the past in this part of the country. The Copts surely know what maniacs these people can be.

Protesters, including some Copts we’re to believe, have said they object to Mikhail’s appointment because he is a former senior police officer and they want a civilian governor.

However, Mohammed Hamza, a 29-year-old who has been taking part in the demonstrations wasn’t nearly so nuanced. He said,  “A non-Muslim should not rule over Muslims. This guy could be shot at if he shows up here.”

I’d say the odds are slim to none that Emad Mikhail will ever take office in Qena or anywhere else in Egpt, and just as slim that whomever replaces Mr. Mikhail will be another Christian. Stay tuned…

Reuters (h/t Weasel Zippers) — Protesters in a southern Egyptian city insisted on Thursday their new Christian governor resign, stepping up a week-long challenge to his appointment by the country’s military rulers.

The army generals ruling Egypt since President Hosni Mubarak’s ouster appointed Emad Mikhail, a Copt and a senior former officer in Egypt’s vilified police force, as governor of Qena province earlier this month.

But he has so far not taken up his post because thousands of demonstrators have contested the decision, resorting to the same people-power that ended Mubarak’s 30-year rule in February.

Protesters have blocked highways and railway tracks leading to Qena, a province with a large Coptic Christian population and whose previous governor was also a Christian.

They have also surrounded the governor’s office, vowing to prevent Mikhail from ever entering.

“Mikhail, Mikhail, you’re never coming here,” protesters chanted.

Ibrahim Saadani, one of the protesters, told Reuters by telephone: “We do not want someone from the previous regime and worst still from the police force as governor. The revolution came to change the previous regime but we are not seeing new faces.”

Local media had reported radical Islamists were spearheading the protests, raising fears they could descend into sectarian violence in a province where Muslims and Christians have often clashed in the past.

But witnesses said Coptic Christians, and other Muslims, had joined the demonstrations because of Mikhail’s past.

Egyptian Muslims threaten life of newly appointed Christian governor

I reported a couple of days back about the thousands of Muslims protesting against the appointment of a Christian governor in Egypt.

The protests have continued for three days now, and the Muslims have upped their opposition to threats of murder. What the media refuses to point out is that in Islam it is forbidden for an infidel to rule over a Muslim, in this case as a regional governor.

This was permitted during the more secular regime of Hosni Mubarak, but under the enlightened Twitter “democracy” of the new Obama Middle East, it will not stand.

The odds of this Christian governor remaining in office are slim. Should he try to do so, the odds of him losing his head are far greater. Democariah, baby.

Reuters (h/t Weasel Zippers) — Muslims in southern Egypt protested for a third day on Sunday over the appointment of a Christian governor, saying his predecessor, also a Christian, had failed to solve their problems.

Thousands rallied outside the governor’s office in Qena and prevented employees from entering, blocked highways leading to the town and sat on a railway line into the province demanding that the appointment of Emad Mikhail be reversed.

Egypt’s interim military rulers, who took control when President Hosni Mubarak was ousted in a popular uprising, selected Mikhail last week as one of several new appointments to replace officials associated with his autocratic regime. . . .

The protest took a more aggressive turn as some radical Salafi Islamists in the crowd demanded a Muslim official, saying “we want it Islamic.” Some even threatened to kill Mikhail if he came to his office.

Thousands of Muslims protest against the appointment of a Christian governor in Egypt

Yet more evidence that western liberal democracy and Islam are incompatible, and that Egypt is doomed. It won’t be too long before the world looks back with a sigh to the good old days of strong-armed dictators.

The previous governor of this province was also Christian. But that was under Mubarak. Now that Egypt has ‘democracy’ a Christian governor is no longer considered acceptable.

In story after story outraged Muslims are referred to as “conservative”. The aren’t conservative, they are the average, run of the mill, believing Muslim practicing exactly what Islam teaches them.

Cairo (DPA) — Thousands of conservative Muslims protested in the southern Egyptian province of Qina Friday against the appointment of a new Christian governor.

Witnesses said the protesters, mostly observers of the conservative Islamic Salafist movement, threatened to bar Emad Mikhail, the new governor, from entering the province. The previous governor, whom Mikhail will replace, was also Christian.

Qina has seen sectarian strife in the past. Late last year, dozens of Christians and Muslims were arrested in the province after nearly a dozen homes were burnt in clashes between members of the two religions.

Residents said fighting erupted last year when it was discovered that a Coptic Christian man was dating a Muslim woman from the same southern town.

FBI top counter-terror officials: Al-Qaeda “thrives” in fallen dictatorships

Libyan rebel fan of Che

One doesn’t have to be an FBI official to see the obvious. It has been clear for some time already that those who are benefitting the most from the turmoil in the Middle East are Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, and al-Qaeda.

What is most baffling is why America, Europe, and the UN are helping it happen. How is it that the U.S. could be favoring the same side, either actively or passively, as Iran in almost every case?

It’s quite weird. But, only as long as one believes that the Obama regime is pro-American. Once you get over that malarkey, most everything these people do makes perfect sense.

ABC News (h/t Weasel Zippers) — On the same day reports emerged of a new al Qaeda video that praised the revolutions sweeping the Arab world, one the U.S.’s top counter-terror officials warned the terror organization “thrives” in the political unrest that follows.

“The governments of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen have drastically changed in the last six months,” FBI Assistant Director of Counter-Terrorism Mark Giuliano said Thursday. “They are now led by transitional or interim governments, military regimes, or democratic alliances with no established track record on counterterrorism efforts. Al Qaeda thrives in such conditions and countries of weak governance and political instability — countries in which governments may be sympathetic to their campaign of violence.”

Giuliano made the comments at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy just hours before the first reports emerged of the new al Qaeda video, which features separate appearances by al Qaeda’s number two commander, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and American-born key commander in al Qaeda in the Arabian Penninsula (AQAP), Anwar al-Awlaki, each praising the recent uprisings. In the hour-plus long video, al-Zawahiri orders Muslims in Egypt to create an Islamic state there and calls for the Arab armies of the Middle East to intervene in Libya to oust dictator Moammar Gadhafi before “Western aid… turns into invasions.”  Keep reading…
