Jimmy Carter sends condolences to North Korea

Carter never met a murderous dictator he didn’t like. He lives vicariously through them.

Washington Times – Former President Jimmy Carter has sent North Korea a message of condolence over the death of Kim Jong-il and wished “every success” to the man expected to take over as dictator, according to the communist country’s state-run news agency.

A dispatch from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Mr. Carter sent the message to Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il’s son and heir apparent.

“In the message Jimmy Carter extended condolences to Kim Jong Un and the Korean people over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il. He wished Kim Jong Un every success as he assumes his new responsibility of leadership, looking forward to another visit to [North Korea] in the future,” the KCNA dispatch read.

When contacted by The Washington Times for comment, the Carter Center provided an email contact to a spokeswoman who is out of the office until the New Year.

North Korea is routinely labeled as one of the world’s most oppressive governments under an eccentric personality cult surrounding the Kim family. Harrowing reports from defectors describe North Korea as a dirt-poor nation filled with concentration camps and Communist propaganda. Kim Jong-il ran the reclusive country according to a “military first” policy since the mid-1990s, after a famine that may have killed as many as 2 million people.

Before there was Barack Hussein Obama, there was Jimmy Carter. Both Democrat presidents. Both viciously anti-Israel. The David Horowitz Freedom Center delivers this history lesson and smackdown of the arch Israel-hater, and pathological liar, Carter.

And don’t forget to watch Horowitz’s Freedom Center’s recent, and timely, evisceration of B. Hussein Obama‘s attack on Israel’s legitimacy.

The Jimmy Carter kiss of death: “Muslim Brotherhood is not anything to be afraid of”

Now we know for sure that the Egyptian revolution is doomed to failure.

Fellow-traveler Jimmy Carter has never been right about anything ever since he was elected to Barack Obama’s first term of office in 1976.

This is the same guy who embraces Hamas and Hezbollah, and just about every other enemy of the United States and Israel. Carter would define success in Egypt as that which would lead to the destruction of Israel.

(Statesman) – (h/t Weasel Zippers) The Egyptian military won’t ignore its citizens’ demands for open elections, even if the military has an interest in keeping power, former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday at a University of Texas lecture.

It was the first time Carter has spoken publicly about recent developments in the Middle East, including the uprising in Egypt that led to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s resignation.

…Updegrove, who characterized Carter as the president most associated with the Middle East, having helped to broker a peace accord between Egypt and Israel in 1978, asked the former president how the United States should view the Muslim Brotherhood, an influential group in Egypt that has ties to Hezbollah and may influence Egypt in the future.

“I think the Muslim Brotherhood is not anything to be afraid of in the upcoming (Egyptian) political situation and the evolution I see as most likely,” Carter said. “They will be subsumed in the overwhelming demonstration of desire for freedom and true democracy.”

Uh-huh.
