(CNS News) – The U.S. Postal Service has been losing an average of $42,335,766 per day in fiscal 2012.

On Thursday, the service reported a third quarter (April 1-June 30) net loss of $5.2 billion, bringing its fiscal year-to-date net loss to $11.6 billion.

There were 274 days in the first three quarters of fiscal 2012. Thus the Postal Service has lost, on average, $42,335,766 per day in this fiscal year.

Video: Muslim teen shouts “Allahu akbar” and tries to snatch Olympic torch

Religion of peace tries to douse the torch of peace.

Times of Israel – A Muslim teen tried to grab the Olympic torch out of the hands of its bearer as she passed through the town of Gravesend, outside London, on Friday.

He was charged with assault, assaulting a police officer and a public order offense, and was to appear at Medway Youth Court in Chatham, Kent on Sunday.

According to the British media, the anonymous 17-year-old shouted “Allahu akbar” — Arabic for “God is great” — before lunging at torch-bearer Anna Skora.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, he jumped at Skora, but failed to snatch it from her grasp as escorting officers tackled him.

Skora, a Polish citizen, kept the torch upright and completed her section of the relay. She was not hurt in the incident.

Leftist J Street targets Allen West & Joe Walsh for speaking the truth

Truth is the new hate speech. J Street is another George Soros funded, anti-Israel group. They claim to be pro-Israel, but nearly everything they say or do is intended to weaken Israel and take down Benjamin Netanyahu and Republican congressmen who support Israel. They are scum. The ‘J’ in J Street essentially stands for ‘Judenrein’.

West and Walsh are among the bravest and most pro-Israel congressmen in Washington. J Street supports only Democrats. Nor does J Street truly give a damn about ‘democracy.’ The majority of Israelis support Jews being allowed to live in Judea and Samaria, as the election of Benjamin Netanyahu clearly proved. J Street is nothing but another Leftist front group created to undermine and ultimately destroy Israel.

Arutz Sheva – J Street has launched a new campaign — insisting that congressmen Joe Walsh (R-IL) and Allen West (R-FL) are “not pro-Israel” because they support Israeli annexation of Judea and Samaria.

“There is no such thing as a two-state solution, and no such thing as land for peace,” said Walsh, who introduced a resolution last year supporting a proposal that Israel annex Jewish communities located in “disputed territories.”

West, who co-sponsored the resolution, is a staunch supporter of the State of Israel, saying last year that a two-state solution would, essentially, mean the demise of Israel as a Jewish state.

The J Street ads single out the Congressmen’s claims, urging constituents to tell them “the two-state solution preserves Israel’s democracy and its security.”

“Opposing it isn’t pro-Israel. It’s playing with fire,” the ad claims.

“In election after election American Jews have stood by and watched while Members of Congress were attacked for supporting pro-Israel, pro-peace policies,” said J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami. “J Street began changing that dynamic by rising to their defense. In this election, we will take that effort to a new level by calling out Members of Congress, like Walsh and West, who are playing with fire when it comes to Israel.”

“We intend to make it crystal clear that there are, indeed, many ways to be ‘pro-Israel’—but supporting a nightmarish one-state scenario is not one of them,” claimed Ben-Ami.

While J Street prides itself as being “pro-Israel” and “pro-peace,” many, if not most, Jewish constituents believe that the organization actually undermines the interests of the State of Israel and Jewish people. Numerous Jewish leaders and organizations have publicly disassociated themselves, altogether, from J Street’s rhetoric and policies.

Caroline Glick writes that Walsh is right:

First, it is important to consider the claim that Walsh went against the grain of American ideals by suggesting, “Those Palestinians who wish to may leave their Fatah- and Hamas-created slums and move to the original Palestinian state: Jordan. The British Mandate for Palestine created Jordan as the country for the Palestinians. That is the only justification for its creation. Even now, 75% of its population is of Palestinian descent.”

The fact of the matter is that the two-state paradigm rests on the assumption that the Palestinian state will be ethnically cleansed of Jews before it is established. Whereas Walsh somehow stands in opposition to American ideals for suggesting that the Palestinians may voluntarily immigrate to Jordan, Kampeas, Ben- Ami and their cohorts have no problem with the concept of a Jew-free Palestine and the forcible expulsion of up to 675,000 Jews from their homes in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem simply because they are Jewish.

Aside from their pernicious hypocrisy and moral blindness, what stands out in their assaults on Walsh is that they cannot tell the difference between Israel’s enemies that seek its destruction through the so-called one-state solution, and Israel’s friends, who want it to defeat its enemies and live with security and peace. For the likes of Kampeas and Ben-Ami, there is no difference between Walsh and Israel’s worst enemies.

PART OF this problem is their apparent unquestioning acceptance of the myth of a demographic time bomb. They seem not to have noticed that the Palestinian claim that by 2015 there will be an Arab majority west of the Jordan River is a complete fabrication.

The truth is that if Israel applied its laws to Judea and Samaria tomorrow and all the Palestinians in those areas received Israeli citizenship, Israel would still retain a two-thirds Jewish majority. Moreover, all the demographic trends for Israel, including increasing birthrates and positive immigration rates, are positive. And all the demographic trends for the Palestinians, including decreasing birthrates and negative immigration rates, are negative. According to Israeli demographic researcher Yoram Ettinger, by 2030, Jewish will likely comprise 80% of the population of Israel, Judea and Samaria.

So Ben-Ami’s argument that Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria means the end of Israeli democracy is simply incorrect.

New documentary: “Follow Me: The Yoni Netanyahu Story”

Called Operation Entebbe, for the Ugandan airport where they were being held, the raid was successful except for the deaths of four hostages and Yoni Netanyahu, the unit leader and older brother of current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Now a new documentary about Yoni Netanyahu is making the film festival circuit — “Follow Me: The Yoni Netanyahu Story,” by directors Jonathan Gruber and Ari Daniel Pinchot. Interviewed from his studio office in Maryland, Pinchot said he had worshiped Netanyahu for many years after having been introduced to his book by his wife when they were still dating. They named their first son Yoni for the fallen commando.

“I felt that Yoni is a remarkable role model, especially for young people in today’s world,” said Pinchot. “Kids today are becoming very self-absorbed and a lot of their life is focused on career and how to make their lives better. As a parent of four kids, I want to teach them that there are higher purposes out there, and that Yoni really was that role model for me.”

The death of the elder Netanyahu, a good-looking, bright and eloquent 30-year-old, saddened the nation and presumably changed the Netanyahu family forever. Yoni, the family’s heir apparent, was primed for leadership, which would have possibly have left middle brother Bibi to follow another career course. Yoni’s untimely death made him a hero in the Jewish world. Families and educational institutions pored over his posthumously published book of letters and religiously watched the two 1970s movies made about the raid, “Operation Thunderbolt” and “Raid on Entebbe.”

With increased lay-offs in France, Spain and even Austria, the region’s unemployment total is now at 17.56 million, that is 11.1 percent of the working population.

The figures were compiled by the EU’s statistics office Eurostat.

Economists at ING predict it will go as high as 12 percent as the debt crisis continued to eat away at the currency bloc’s fragile economy.

Unemployment will continue to rise until we see an improvement in the economy, and that may not be until next year,” said Steen Jakobsen, chief economist at Saxobank.

56% of Germans support ruling of suspension of religious circumcision, only 35% oppose

Of course they do. They are Germans. It’s their way of expressing their outrage that there could still be Jewish babies in their G-d forsaken country.

Israel Hayom- The European Jewish Congress (EJC) condemned on Sunday last week’s ruling in Cologne that made religious circumcision illegal shortly after a Jewish hospital in Berlin announced on Friday it would be suspending circumcisions until further notice. Circumcision is one of the most ancient and profound Jewish traditions.

EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor called the ruling an assault on religious practices. “We would hope that in Germany of all places where there is a high level of sensitivity to such freedoms, Jewish life would be allowed to flourish without restriction.” Kantor called on the German government to “take a clear stand against this ruling and [fall] in line with the German constitution, which guarantees religious freedom.”

“We need to remind people that our practices, completely in line with modern science and safety precautions, are thousands of years old and above all, are protected by the European Convention of Human Rights on the basis of freedom of religion.”

Kantor attributed the court ruling to a recent spate of anti-religious court proposals, including an attempted ban on the kosher slaughter of animals, called shechitah. “After recent attempts to ban shechitah in various parts of Europe, another Jewish religious practice is being targeted,” Kantor said. “If any of these attempts succeed they could quickly spread to other parts of Europe and severely impact on Jewish life on our continent.”

Meanwhile, a Jewish hospital in Berlin announced on Friday that it had suspended circumcisions in light of the Cologne ruling. The court stated that religious circumcision constitutes “serious bodily harm.”

The Jewish hospital released a statement saying that they would be “suspending circumcisions until the legal position is made more clear.” The hospital performed up to 300 circumcisions annually, a third for religious reasons and the rest for health reasons.

Dieter Grumman, head of the Central Jewish Council in Germany, told Focus magazine on Saturday that “circumcision is an essential part of the [Jewish] religious faith and is non-negotiable.”

According to Focus magazine surveys, the German public is largely not aligned with Grumman: 56% of Germans voiced support for the suspension of circumcision practice while only 35% opposed it.

Swedish politicians demanding men sit down to pee

It’s come to this, the end game of the politically correct, socialist nanny state, turning men into women.

The politicians claim that by forcing men to sit down to pee will also help to keep bathrooms cleaner.

But this problem has already been solved.

Cbc.ca – A Swedish political party is taking a stand against upright urination.

At a county council meeting Monday, the Left Party, or Vänsterpartiet, tabled a motion that would require office washrooms to be genderless with a sit-down-only requirement, reported the news agency Tidningarnas Telegrambyrå.

For men who might refuse to comply, party representatives suggested a separate set of toilets clearly labeled for stand-up urination only.

Hey Sweden, try this instead. Works wonders!

Vänsterpartiet, known as a socialist and feminist organization, believes seated urination is healthier for men and more hygienic for both sexes.

Party speakers cited medical research they said shows men empty their bladders more efficiently while seated. Improved bladder evacuation reduces the risk for prostate problems, according to the party. It also helps men who sit rather than stand achieve a longer and healthier sex life, it said.

Viggo Hansen, a substitute council member who authored the motion, told Sveriges Television that that the move does not represent an attempt to meddle in the bathroom habits of citizens.

“That’s not what we’re doing. We want to give men the option of going into a clean toilet,” he said.

Swastikas spray-painted on at least 6 Brooklyn buildings, including synagogue and religious school

This is happening with more and more frequency.

New York Post – Swastikas were spray-painted on at least six Brooklyn buildings overnight, including a synagogue and religious school, in a bias incident, cops and residents said.

Police are investigating the hateful graffiti on Borough Park buildings between 44th and 48th Street, near 16th and 18th Avenues. A synagogue on 46th Street was vandalized, according to witnesses.

Scheindel Fischman, whose husband owns Fischman’s Food Center on 16th Avenue, said a swastika was spraypainted in silver on the family store’s roll-down gate. The shop’s surveillance camera showed two men vandalizing their store about 2:45 a.m., she said.

“I think it’s a terrible shame that someone would do something like this,” said Moshe Zwolinski, 53, a nearby resident. These are people who don’t really understand our culture, we hope they will enlighten themselves.”

Other residents were in fear over the recent hate-fueled vandalism.

“It’s very scary, they have the guts to come and do that,” Moseh Liebermann, 70, said. “They start with the synagogue and then they will go to everybody’s house.”

City Council memeber David Greenfield said that there is currently a $1,000 reward for information regarding the graffiti.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Greenfield, who was born in Borough Park, said. “This is the largest Jewish communtity in the United States and largest community of holocaust survivors and they have to be greeted by this symbol of hate. It’s just shocking and appalling.”

Progressive this and People that aside, 37 Howe Street happens to be the headquarters for the Connecticut Communist Party, run by Joelle Fishman, who also happens to be the regional bureau chief for the infamous Peoples World. Which, yes, also happens to be located at 37 Howe Street.

So here we have a state that is awash in red ink, consciously increasing its red ink, to directly send taxpayer dollars to a place that publishes Red ink.

My pal Tom Scott, former state senator and considered by many to be Connecticut’s primo conservative, called to say “Is there anything this Governor is unwilling to spend our money on? We have the highest per-capita debt of any state, we’re the highest taxed state in the nation, and yet Malloy and the Democrats see fit to spend $300,000 to prop up the Communist Party of Connecticut. This is outrageous. And Malloy is a fiscal misfit. We need to turn the heat up on these Democrats to remove this item from the bond commission agenda.”

The state debt clock for Connecticut indicates that 10% of the state’s population currently receives food stamps. Broken down by citizen, every state resident is approximately $11,000 in debt due to government spending. Given the state’s unemployment numbers, approximately 8%, combined with tax rates and breaks, we know not all of them will pay much, if anything, in taxes.

Now, meet Joelle Fishman. She is head of the state communist party and is associated with other far leftist causes and organizations.

Joelle Fishman chairs the Connecticut Communist Party USA. She is a Commissioner on the City of New Haven Peace Commission, serves on the executive board of the Alliance of Retired Americans in Connecticut and is an active member of many economic rights and social justice organizations. She was a candidate for Congress from 1973 to 1982, maintaining minor-party ballot status for the Communist Party in Connecticut’s Third Congressional District. As chair of the CPUSA Political Action Commission, she has played an active role in the broad labor and people’s alliance that defeated the ultra-right in the 2008 elections and continues to mobilize for health care, worker rights and peace.

Despite massive debt and high unemployment, the state government of Connecticut will be giving Fishman’s group, Progressive Education and Research Associates, three hundred thousand dollars in hard-earned tax payer dollars for building renovations. Progressive Education and Research Associates just happens to share headquarters with the Connecticut Communist Party. Connecticut’s government isn’t broken, it’s actively working against the Nutmeg State’s working population.

Gallup: Economic conservatives outnumber economic Liberals 46% to 20%

Obama is going down. He will be known as the man who destroyed the Democrat party.

(CNSNews.com) – Americans who describe themselves as conservative on economic issues outnumber those who describe themselves as liberal on economic issues by 46 percent to 20 percent, according to a Gallup poll released today.

The same poll says that Americans who describe themselves as conservative on social issues outnumber those who describe themselves as liberal on social issues by 38 percent to 28 percent.

Over the past year, according to Gallup’s historic data on the same questions, the percentage who describe themselves as conservative on social issues has marginally increased (climbing from 35 percent to 38 percent) while those who describe themselves as conservative on economic issues has marginally declined (dropping from 47 percent to 46 percent).

Similarly, there was a slight decline over the past year in the percentage who say they are liberal on social issues (from 29 percent to 28 percent), while there was a slight increase in the percentage who say they are liberal on economic issues (from 19 percent to 20 percent). Arab terrorist attacks IDF soldier, stabs himself

A 14-year-old Fakestinians would-be terrorist dumbass attempted to stab an IDF soldier standing at the Gush Etzion Junction on Route 60. The soldier was not wounded, but the punk who has been weened on U.S. and European-funded PLO propaganda since the day he was born was seriously wounded in the struggle.

The terrorist hid among Israeli bicycle riders who were participating in the ninth annual bicycle ride from Hebron to Jerusalem. The useful idiot walked up to the soldier and tried to stab him. After a struggle which ended with the wanna-be hero in serious condition, the terrorist received initial medical care at the scene and was then evacuated to the Hadassah Medical Center for additional care.

Jewish Press – The Tatzpit news agency reported that hundreds of cyclists participated on Sunday morning in the ninth annual bicycle ride from Hebron to Jerusalem, that ran against a gruesome incident a few miles into the trek.

The ride, which follows in the path of the late Isaac Boanis, may God avenge his blood, was secured by an extra IDF checkpoint along its route, at the Gush Etzion junction.

As the cyclists reached the checkpoint, a 14-year-old Arab emerged from a nearby nursery and tried to stab an IDF lieutenant from the Kfir Brigade.

The officer overcame his attacker and during the struggle the latter was stabbed in the abdomen by his own knife.

There were no other casualties. The terrorist was transported to Ein Kerem Hospital in serious condition.

Back on Friday night, November 15, 2002, near the worshipers’ alley in Hebron, leading from the neighborhood of Kiryat Arba to the cave of the Patriarchs, three Islamic Jihad terrorists positioned themselves at either end of the alley and started shooting at an IDF patrol. Eventually all three Arabs were killed, along with five Border Guards, four IDF soldiers, and three members of the Kiryat Arba emergency squad, under the command of Boanis.

The annual trip was initiated by the youth of Kiryat Arba, in honor of Jerusalem Day and in memory of the fallen heroes of that battle.

Although he has served less than a term, Obama is now the first American president to see the federal government’s debt increase by more than $5 trillion during his time in office.

During the full eight years that George W. Bush served as president, the federal government’s debt increased by $4,899,100,310,608.44. (Rising from $5,727,776,738,304.64 to $10,626,877,048,913.08.)

The $5,027,761,476,484.56 that the debt has increased during Obama’s presidency equals $16,043.39 for every one of the 313,385,295 people the Census Bureau now estimates live in the United States.

At the close of business on Jan. 20, 2009, the day Obama was inaugurated, the federal government’s debt was $10,626,877,048,913.08, according to the U.S. Treasury. By the close of business on April 16, 2012—as many Americans were working to finalize their 2011 tax returns to meet an April 17 filing deadline—the debt had reached $15,654,638,525,397.64.

The $5,027,761,476,484.56 in additional debt that the U.S. government has taken on during the 39 months that Obama has been president is more debt than the federal government accumulated in the first 219 years of the Republic.

The total federal debt did not exceed $5,027,761,476,484.56 until March 14, 1996, when President Bill Clinton was in the last year of his first term in office. On that day, the national debt rose from $5,025,887,531,178.79 to 5,035,165,720,616.33.

The first anniversary of the SEAL Team 6 operation that killed Osama bin Laden brings the news that President Obama plans during the coming campaign to exploit the bragging rights to the achievement. That plan invites scrutiny that is unlikely to benefit him.

Consider the events surrounding the operation. A recently disclosed memorandum from then-CIA Director Leon Panetta shows that the president’s celebrated derring-do in authorizing the operation included a responsibility-escape clause: “The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven’s hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out.”

Which is to say, if the mission went wrong, the fault would be Adm. McRaven’s, not the president’s. Moreover, the president does not seem to have addressed at all the possibility of seizing material with intelligence value—which may explain his disclosure immediately following the event not only that bin Laden was killed, but also that a valuable trove of intelligence had been seized, including even the location of al Qaeda safe-houses. That disclosure infuriated the intelligence community because it squandered the opportunity to exploit the intelligence that was the subject of the boast.  (more >>>)

Poll: 77% of Americans want to cut or reduce U.S. aid to Egypt

Egypt says don’t even think about it, infidels.

Poll Position (h/t Weasel Zippers) — Most Americans believe the U.S. should reduce or eliminate its more than $1 billion a year in financial aid to Egypt.

In our national scientific telephone poll, we put this question to Americans: “Do you believe that the U.S. should maintain, reduce, or halt providing Egypt with more than $1 billion a year in U.S. financial aid?”

In response, 14% said maintain the aid the $1 billion+ a year in aid, 44% said reduce the aid, and 33% said halt the aid altogether.

Along partisan lines, independents (43%) and Republicans (40%) most favored ending U.S. aid to Egypt.

Poll Position’s scientific telephone survey of 1,232 registered voters nationwide was conducted Feb. 6, 2012 and has a margin of error of ±3%.  Poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults.

Ayman al-Zawahri, in a videotaped statement released late yesterday, asked Muslims in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey to join the uprising against Assad’s “pernicious, cancerous regime”. All four states border Syria.

A senior Iraqi security official also told the Associated Press that intelligence over the past four months has revealed a flow of al-Qaeda-linked fighters from the northern Iraqi city of Mosul into Syria.

The comments by both the Iraqi official and al-Zawahri came a day after two suicide car bombers struck security compounds in Aleppo, a Syrian city that had been relatively peaceful throughout the country’s 11-month-uprising.

Though there was no claim of responsibility, suicide bombings are a hallmark of al-Qaeda.

“There is no treatment for (the Assad regime) other than removal,” al-Zawahri says in the eight-minute video posted on jihadist websites, according to US-based SITE Intel Group, which monitors militant messages.

Fisker Automotive lays off U.S. workers, begs for faster U.S. money

(Doug Powers writing at Michelle Malkin) – Fisker Automotive, which was granted a $529 million US Dept. of Energy loan guarantee and then announced they would assemble the first line of cars in Finland, has announced layoffs at a Delaware plant that has yet to produce a single car:

The company says 26 Fisker employees have been let go from the Delaware factory where renowned automotive engineer Henrik Fisker promised to one day begin producing affordable electric sedans. A Delaware newspaper also reported that subcontractors working on the car venture have been let go.

“It’s temporary,” said Roger Ormisher, a company spokesman. “We’re being prudent and sensible as a company.”

Because the initial phase sounds like it’s been such an unqualified success, the company is asking for terms of the federal loan to be altered so the company can have faster access to their line of time-released taxpayer-backed credit:

Accompanying the layoffs was an announcement that Fisker has approached the Department of Energy about revising the targets it had to meet in order to continue drawing money from the federal loan. Whether the Energy Department agrees to alter the terms, and invest more taxpayer [money] in the Fisker venture remains unclear.

To date, Fisker has received $193 million in government funds, according to a company statement. Back in October, the company acknowledged outsourcing Karma assembly to Finland, but said that the bulk of its government funds would be used to launch a second-generation electric vehicle, still under wraps, that would be assembled in a shuttered General Motors plant in Delaware. Some of those hired to prepare the Delaware plant for that effort were among those let go.

“We have temporarily delayed work at the plant based on ongoing discussions with the DOE regarding funding for the Project Nina program,” the company’s statement said. “As a result, we have laid off 26 people.”

This all sounds too familiar, doesn’t it? But since Leo DiCaprio, Al Gore and Colin Powell must not be denied warranty coverage, it’s important for the DoE to help keep Fisker afloat.

PLO says it plans to return to ‘popular resistance’

2012 is going be…interesting.

In the latest sign that the 1993 Oslo Accords are moribund, PLO officials say they plan to completely disengage from Israel.

Arutz Sheva – Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) officials said Friday their decision to return to ‘popular resistance’ is aimed at ‘disengaging’ from Israel.

PLO Executive Committee member Tayseer Khalid said the new unified Fatah-Hamas strategy will be based on ‘popular resistance’ which will spread into PA enclaves in Judea and Samaria.

“The popular resistance will reshape the Palestinian relationship with Israel…to reach total disengagement with Israel,” Khalid said.

“We will never accept to be an agent for the Israeli occupation,” he added.

Khalid’s statements are only the latest in the intransigent unilateralist mantra coming out of Ramallah and have led analysts to suggest that Fatah has decided to turn the PA enclaves in Judea and Samaria into a second Gaza.

Last week PLO officials officially adopted a strategy based on “continuous efforts along with the international community to secure full recognition and full United Nations membership, pursuing internal reconciliation, and keeping up the popular resistance.”

They have also threatened to end economic and security ties with Israel.

Israeli officials have said the unilateral track adopted by their counterparts in Ramallah are a direct violation of the bilateral 1993 Oslo Accords – and warn unilateral moves on final status issues by PA officials will result in Israel making unilateral moves of its own.

It remains unclear what PA officials believe is to be gained by cutting all ties with Israel and returning to an all-or-nothing unilateral path.

PA security officials expressed concern earlier this year that a direct confrontation with Israel could have disasterous consequences, while Ramallah’s senior economic advisers have warned discontinued Israeli participation in the PA economy would lead to fiscal insolvency.

Militant atheists scrooge Christmas in Marxifornia

The bratty, self-righteous atheist brigade thinks it is being clever by giving Californians the middle candy cane.

Hotair’s Jazz Shaw writes about a group of atheists accused of swamping the lottery and taking over the lots.

CNN – This year, however, atheists have taken over most of the two-block stretch, nearly shutting out and angering a group of churches who contend the atheists have organized against the Christians and gamed a city lottery process allocating the holiday exhibit space.

In response, a leader of the atheist group says he’s just looking for evenhanded treatment to present his beliefs in a public space — and goes so far as to say that the city shouldn’t even be allowing any religious or even atheist expression in the park.

That’s why he and his group have put nothing on half of the park exhibit spaces that they’ve secured from the city this year.

The atheists are declaring the politically left-leaning seaside town of Santa Monica as their latest battleground in a national movement to assert their rights.

“I’m part of a growing movement in America of atheists standing up for their rights. It’s a very exciting time for us that we’re having more of an impact in our society,” said Damon Vix, the organizer of the atheist group.

Shaw writes:

Yes, you’re having a big “impact” on the local society, alright. You’re getting everyone angry at you and ruining their holiday season to no apparent purpose. In the interview, Mr. Vix makes it clear that he has no interest in seeing other people’s views being represented – he just doesn’t want the Christians to use it.

In the interest of fairness, I could see if competing groups wanted to use some of the lots for an alternative display. If somebody wants to put up a big menorah on one of the lots, I don’t think anyone is going to get too worked up over it. And for these atheists, if they had something in mind as an alternative message… even a Festivus pole and a wrestling mat for some feats of strength, I’d probably have to give them some support. But to lock off the land to leave it empty rather than allow a nativity scene? That’s not some fight for equality or freedom. That’s just being a Grinch.

Pat Condell has some choice words for this sort of behavior. Condell is a ‘proud atheist,’ but he is not a militant atheist, like so many others. Here he stands up for the western tradition of Christmas, and tells the fanatics and multi-culti party-poopers “to go to hell”.

Hamas’ Haniyeh: “We will lead intifada after intifada until the job is done”

I think he’s just angling to be next year’s TIME Ragazine’s ‘person of the year‘.

Jerusalem Post – Armed resistance is the only way to release Palestine, senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said Wednesday at a rally in Gaza City marking the 24th anniversary of Hamas.

“We will lead intifada after intifada until the job is done,” Haniyeh declared to the masses of Hamas supporters who joined the celebrations.

The armed wing of Hamas, the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades released new official statistics to honor the occasion.

The group flaunted these statistics on twitter in posts such as: “the total number of the Zionists who were killed and injured by our hands reached 7767.”  

Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported Wednesday morning that the Palestinian Prisoners Society had notified the Palestinian prisoners who were set to be released in the second phase of the agreement for the release of Gilad Schalit.

Ma’an published a list of 114 names out of the 550 prisoners expected to be released Sunday.

On the exchange the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades tweeted: “we succeeded in releasing 1050 male and  female prisoners from Zionist jails in the ‘Devotion of the free’, swap deal.”

Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon explains the historical facts relating to the issue of refugees in the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

The video explains the reason there are still refugees after more than six decades is because of Arab leaders’ recalcitrance to accept their brethren and the United Nations which created a separate agency with unique principles and criteria.

The video also highlights the issue of the Jewish refugees who were forced out of their homes in the Arab world, and were subsequently absorbed by the State of Israel.

Israel’s deputy foreign minister, Danny Ayalon, has just released the third of his little information videos setting out certain essential facts about Israel and the Arabs to counter the lies of the delegitimisation campaign. Obama urges lawmakers to go easy on Iran

The senate voted 100-0 for tougher sanctions, but Imam Obama, continues to do all he can to buy Iran time, and ensure it becomes another North Korean or Pakistani headache. This is what he and Hillary Clinton call “smart power”.

Reuters — The Obama administration is urging US lawmakers to soften proposed sanctions targeting Iran’s central bank, Senator Mark Kirk said on Tuesday.

Kirk, a Republican, is the co-author along with Democratic Senator Robert Menendez of a proposal to penalize foreign financial institutions that do business with Iran’s central bank, the main conduit for its oil revenues.

The Senate approved the proposal last week 100-0 despite lobbying against it by Obama administration officials, who argued that threatening US allies might not be the best way to get cooperation in action against Iran.

A similar measure is pending in the House of Representatives; both chambers must agree on the same version before it can become law.

Kirk said on Tuesday that the administration had written to some lawmakers’ offices and “proposed what they describe as technical fixes” to the Kirk-Menendez amendment.
