Video: Freedom Works’ interview with Allen West – defends Israel

West slams Obama’s foreign policy.

Freedom Works – Allen West dropped by the Blogger Hangout at the RNC Convention on August 30, and was very gracious with his time. On his legislative agenda for 2013, he discussed tax reform and regulatory reform as a means to unleash small business success. He took a quick little shot at Harry Reid too, challenging him to pass the job creating legislation that has been blocked from a full vote at the Senate.

I asked him about Sen. McCain’s Convention remarks about the current state of the Middle East. He came out in strong defense of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel’s right as a sovereign nation to take action to protect itself from Iran, and he made a point of stating that America needs to take a supportive role in relation to its allies in the region. He paints a bleak picture of what’s going on in the region due to a lack of American leadership.

Finally, he states that the reason that the momentum is on the side of the GOP is because we are talking about principles, stating that when Republicans stand on Conservative values and talk about the Constitution, we win.

Video: Jon Voight – This election is “a fight to save america from the downgrading of Obama’s views and ideas”

Darn tootin’.

Gateway Pundit – Actor Jon Voight spoke at the Defending the Defenders forum sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots outside the RNC Convention in Tampa on Tuesday.

In his prepared comments he warned the crowd what a second Obama term would mean for our country.

“This coming November will be the most important election… of our lifetime. The stakes are high. It will be a fight to save America from the downgrading of Obama’s views and ideas.”

Bummer: Kippa-wearing Edon Pinchot eliminated in semifinals

Drat.

Stern’s excuse was pretty lame.

Times of Israel – The terrific run is over for Edon Pinchot. The kippa-wearing Jewish day school student was eliminated after his performance in the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday night.

Pinchot, 14, of Skokie, Illinois, was one of 12 acts to perform live on the popular NBC reality show. His rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction earned him a standing ovation from the crowd

One of the three judges, radio personality Howard Stern, had kind words for Edon but claimed that he was “a little bit bored by that song.” His comment was booed by the crowd and contradicted by his fellow judges.

Sharon Osborne, wife of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, said: “I thought the song choice was spot on. You put in everything. It was perfect.”

The third judge, actor-comedian Howie Mandel said: “That was beau-ti-ful.” He added that he thought Edon was “the best singer in this competition.”

Pinchot, who observes the Sabbath and keeps kosher, is the fourth of five children and has been playing piano since he was 9 years old. His grandmother, Ginger Pinchot of Silver Spring, Md., said Edon is “very athletic. He’s one of the stars of his soccer team, and he’s also a straight-A student. He’s just kind of an all-around guy.”

The show’s three judges — Mandel, Osbourne and Stern — are Jewish.

Pinchot will be starting high school soon at the Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Chicago.

Jon Voight: “Israel is God’s gift to all mankind”

God bless Jon Voight. He puts the ‘man’ mensch.

Shalom Life – “Israel is God’s gift to all mankind, because it is a sole reminder of the survival of the Jewish people.”

Those were the compelling words of screen legend and Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, who made the remarks in front of the more than 1,000 people attending the launch of United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto’s Annual Campaign, held at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel on August 21st.

Joining Voight on stage as moderator of the event was Liza Fromer, the Host of Global Television’s The Morning Show.

“After the slaughter of six million men, women and children,” Voight continued, “the survivors found strength in God to believe that they must find new land, new refuge and a new beginning, to keep the Jewish legend alive, to fulfill God’s promise that they are his Chosen and must never be driven to extinction.”

The heartfelt words of the star of such iconic films as Coming Home, Deliverance and Midnight Cowboy, brought the crowd to its feet, while bringing tears to Voight’s eyes.

UJA’s Annual Campaign, which has already raised more than $25.5 million from some 3,000 donors, is chaired by Sarena Koschitzky and Bruce Leboff, with Laurie Sheff at the helm of UJA’s Women’s Philanthropy.

Funds raised through the Annual Campaign allow UJA Federation to continue its mandate of taking care of our most vulnerable, building Jewish identity and education, standing with Israel and the Jewish world, and leading Jewish and Israel advocacy.

“I care deeply about the Jewish people, here in Toronto, Israel and around the world. I am passionate about this community and its future and I am not alone,” Leboff told the crowd. “That passion is what drives Sarena, Laurie and I to work hard to deliver a breakout year in the campaign. I believe unequivocally that UJA is the only charity that addresses needs and concerns across our entire community and the entire Jewish world. Together with the work of our partner agencies, the funds we raise collectively enable transformational change in the lives of Jews in need.”

“In just a few weeks Rosh Hashanah will be upon us,” said Koschitzky. “Rosh Hashannah is a time to reflect on all that we have to be so grateful for, and to give thanks. The Jewish way of giving thanks is not merely words of platitude, but a commitment to actions that will improve who and what we are. We reflect on what we as individuals and we as a community have achieved and we plan on how to do even better. I have learned by example about the empowerment that derives from our collective deeds, and about our common determination to ensure future promise.”

“I believe in this community, I am inspired by our compassion, conviction and values and I am not alone,” said Sheff. “Toronto is one of the great Jewish communities of the world. In fact UJA has the 3rd largest Annual Campaign in North America. We have unbelievable volunteers including a dedicated campaign executive team and more than 700 volunteer canvassers who act as ambassadors in spreading the story; and we have an incredible story to tell – one we hope you will share with your friends, family and neighbours with pride.”

Romney-Ryan ad: Comeback Team

Good ad.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are so much more qualified than Obama and Biden that it is ridiculously sad that America is even having this conversation. Between Obama and Biden they have nothing. No business experience whatsoever. No talent. No accomplishments. Nothing. They are truly the two biggest buffoons to ever occupy the White House. The race shouldn’t even be close.

Romney-Ryan that’s the ticket

Alliteration ought to count for something.

Putting the White House under adult supervision.

NORFOLK, Virginia (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate, completing his party’s ticket as he tries to repair an image damaged by negative Democratic advertising and shift the trajectory of a campaign that’s seen him lose ground to President Barack Obama.

The vice presidential selection will dominate headlines, and Romney’s team relentlessly teased the announcement for weeks. Romney made his announcement Saturday to supporters via a phone app, saying — quote — “Mitt’s Choice for VP is Paul Ryan.”

Romney and Ryan were set to appear together at 9 a.m. local time in Norfolk, Virginia. The pair will be kicking off a four-day bus tour that will take them to as many states.

At 42, Ryan is a generation younger than the 65-year-old Romney. The Wisconsin representative is viewed by some in the Republican Party as a bridge between the buttoned-up party establishment and riled-up conservative activists who have never warmed to Romney.

As the chairman of the House Budget Committee, Ryan could help Romney make the argument that only the Republican ticket knows how to turn around a nation in the midst of a sluggish economic recovery. As talk about Ryan swirled this week, Democrats have been castigating Romney for embracing the Ryan-sponsored budget proposal that critics say is painful to the poor and elderly. It was a sign of the line of attack to come.

The move also now links Romney directly with House Republicans, including no-compromise conservative activists who have pressed for deep spending cuts. Obama has been casting House Republicans as an impediment to progress in often-gridlocked Washington.

At the same time, Ryan on the ticket could help Romney become more competitive in Wisconsin, a state Obama won handily four years ago but that could be much tighter this November.

Video: Allen West to Black Caucus – “When I brought in the Chick-fil-A…at the end of the meeting, there was nothing left.”

Hah. If Allen West were the Republican candidate, America would actually have a chance of surviving.

Gateway Pundit – Rep. Allen West (R-FL) upset members of the radical Black Caucus after he sent Chick-fil-A to a weekly meeting. CBC Chairman Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) told The Huffington Post that, despite the incident happening six months ago, it is still fresh in their minds and every member was offended.

Today Rep. Allen West responded to Alcee Hastings and the Black Caucus. “When I brought in the Chick-fil-A… at the end of the meeting, there was nothing left.”

Photos: Chick-fil-A appreciation day a preview of Obama-fil-a day in November

Chick-fil-A appreciation is America appreciation. Between now and November there isn’t a lot patriotic Americans can do to express their enthusiasm to get to the polls to vote out the anti-American, Marxist-Socialist Obama Administration that has sullied the country in every way for the past four years.

So when Progressives chose to attack the owners of Chick-fil-A for having simply expressed an opinion that the vast majority of Americans happen to share, millions of Americans saw their chance to stand up and be heard. This is just a preview of the patriotic tsunami that is going to sweep the Liberals and Progressives out of Washington come November. Americans don’t want to be “transformed.” They want to be left the hell alone.

(See the Blaze for the whole sandwich) – Hungry diners from all across the country crowded their local Chick-fil-A’s to show their appreciation for the chicken chain’s Southern fried goodness. You knew this day was coming and you knew it was going to be busy.

How crowded did some stores get? Well, based on photo submissions and anecdotes from Blaze readers and editors, let’s just say “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” sounds like it was a major success:

Italian Olympic team stands in silence outside quarters of Israeli team in honor of Munich Massacre victims

Good on you, Italy.

Also:

According to an unverified report the pilot and crew of a British airliner headed for Israel Thursday did what the Olympics Committee refused to do, and observed a moment of silence in memory of the Israel athletes murdered in Munich in 1972.

It was reported that the heartwarming gesture was made by a pilot for EasyJet, on a flight headed from the firm’s home base of Luton, England, to Tel Aviv.

“The pilot came on the intercom and informed the passengers that the crew will be observing a minute of silence as they fly over Munich and he invited the passengers to join them in remembering the Israeli sportsmen who were murdered there at the Olympic Games 40 years ago.”

Men among wimps.

Arutz Sheva – The Italian Olympic team at the London Olympic Games made a noble gesture Sunday and stood in silence outside the quarters of the Israeli team, in memory of the 11 athletes slain in the Munich Olympics 40 years ago, Voice of Israel radio reported Sunday.

About 30 Italians were present at the ceremony, including Italy’s Minister of Sport, the heads of the Italian Olympic Committee and athletes. Israeli Olympic Committee head Tzvi Varshaviak and Olympic delegation leader Efraim Zinger also took part.

According to an unverified report on the internet, the pilot and crew of a British airliner headed for Israel Thursday did what the Olympics Committee refused to do, and observed a moment of silence in memory of the Israel athletes murdered in Munich in 1972.

The “USA Stands with Israel” Facebook page, with over 10,000 subscribers, reported that the heartwarming gesture was made by a pilot for EasyJet, on a flight headed from the firm’s home base of Luton, England, to Tel Aviv.

“The pilot came on the intercom and informed the passengers that the crew will be observing a minute of silence as they fly over Munich and he invited the passengers to join them in remembering the Israeli sportsmen who were murdered there at the Olympic Games 40 years ago,” according to the report.

Despite the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) refusal to hold a minute of silence to commemorate the 11 Israeli athletes who were tortured and murdered 40 years ago at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, NBC sportscaster Bob Costas led his own, improvised, tribute as the 2012 Israeli athletes walked into Olympic Stadium Friday.

“For many, tonight with the world watching, is the true time and place to remember those who were lost and how and why they died,” he said. Following his comments, Costas went silent for five-seconds before the show cut to a commercial break.

A short ceremony was also held at Israel’s embassy in London on Friday, followed by a global minute of silence.

Video: TX Rep. Louie Gohmert bludgeons Janet Napolitano at House Judiciary Hearing

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert is one of the rare sights on Capital Hill. The guy takes no prisoners when it comes to defending America and the Constitution. Right on, Louie!

This is a MUST WATCH video. Gohmert never relents, never gives the fat, ugly slug a minute to start one of her deflecting lies. As you watch your contempt for this man-woman hag will grow and grow. Mine sure did, anyway. Is there not one person, just one, in the Obama Administration who isn’t a radical moron?

What this shows is how deeply penetrated and compromised Washington is by Islam and sharia. Especially when you consider what the usual suspects (Democrats, the media, John McCain, and others) are doing to Michelle Bachman solely because she dares to speak the truth about the Muslim Brotherhood and do her job.

Via Gateway Pundit – Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) blasted Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for allowing a radical Islamist to access classified information. Gohmert’s questions were specifically in regards to Mohamed Elibiary, an appointee on President Barack Obama’s Homeland Security Advisory Council who was accused last year of leaking intelligence documents that reflected poorly on Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
