It's baaaack, Marmara to return to Gaza in May

I’ve been tracking the upcoming mega-flotilla for some time (see links below), and said from early on in the Egyptian revolt that the outcome  will have severe consequences for Israel, and that we may well see them when the scheduled misnamed “Freedom Flotilla 2″ arrives in the middle of May.

Mubarak’s Egypt supported the Israeli embargo on Gaza. Will the Egyptian government that replaced him do the same? Don’t count on it. Those seeking office in Egypt’s September election will be quite vociferous in their condemnations. Let’s just hope Egypt keeps its opposition to the embargo to typical Arab displays of fire-breathing bombast and nothing more.

The original flotilla was small, just a few ships, the most notorious of which was the Mavi Marmara which carried no aid, only hate-filled, propaganda-seeking terrorists. Every media outlet in the world dutifully carried the “activists” propaganda, greedily and happily, at least until the truth began to filter out. Then some outlets inched slowly away, but the damage to Israel’s reputation – such as it is in the world – was done.

Now, as an attempt to be purposefully provocative, the 15-20 ship fleet of terrorists and/or their supporters has announced that the Mavi Mamara will be riding the Jihadi waves along with them again.

If this flotilla truly manifests and seeks to carry out its threat in mid to late-May, it will become a major story, and the very same media outlets that smeared Israel the first time will seek to do so again.

Ynet - The Marmara ship which was involved in the deadly IDF raidlast May is scheduled to return to Israel as part of the “Freedom flotilla 2″ next month, head of the IHH Bülent Yildirim said Thursday.

The flotilla is slated to depart in the second half of the month of May. “What happened in last year’s flotilla will not affect us or the next flotilla,” Yildirim said. He noted that the Marmara will depart from Europe and will carry artists, journalists and politicians. The organizers claim more than 15 vessels are slated to take part in the flotilla. (more >>)

This is not a trivial story in the least. It ties in with much that is happening in and around the Middle East, and even Europe and America. The flotilla aims to arrive on the anniversary of last year’s flotilla incident, but around the same time, on the 15th, we know from the Facebook story, that there is call for a 3rd Intifada against Israel, and a mass march on Jerusalem.

To further emphasize the gravity of the situation, go to MEMRI to watch and read what Bulent Yildirim, the head of the Islamic Human Rights and Freedom Organization (IHH), which organized the first flotilla, told an audience of over 1,000 lunatics about the organization’s plans for the 2nd flotilla to Gaza, one they hope will also include land convoys and an airplane.

“We are getting ready… There will be a ship from every country… in Europe. Our own Mavi Marmara will also set sail from Europe… Vessels will come from everywhere in the world…

“Let all know this: Until the blockade on Gaza is lifted… and until our march to al-Aqsa is completed, this sea intifada and land intifada will continue!

“Also, it will not be only by sea. We are preparing for land convoys as well. And with Allah’s permission, our project for the purchase of an airplane will soon be realized. This way we will reach Gaza by air too.”
